Just for Fun

One of my absolute favorite pictures from the movieThe September Issue, aka Vogue's September issue, and in general.

If anyone ever says or have said that fashion isn't fun, you're dead wrong. And no, definitely not just because of the photography. But I won't rant on that today.

Just thought I'd share. :]

Grace Coddington, the creative designer of Vogue, made the cameraman who was filming the documentary jump in this shot for the magazine.

Just a side note: Grace Coddington is absolutely amazing at what she does and after watching the movie and seeing her work and how she perfectly places the models and chooses scenes for shots is simply beautiful.

Creativity At Its Finest

After the amazing designer, who took his runways and collection to the next level by turning it into a theater of unique clothing, passed away, Sarah Burton picked his collection up. Working side-by-side with Alexander McQueen for 15 years, there was no other person who could take McQueen's collection and carry on his legacy.

For the Spring 2011 Ready-To-Wear, Burton softened the stage. Something that was a key part of McQueen's collections and was usually dark. Taking also, McQueen's signature tailcoat, Burton also softened it with its edges unfinished. Though she might have made minor changes to McQueen's runway, she certainly will not let McQueen's unique designs die down.

Elie Saab

Been a while since I've posted and I apologize!
But hopefully I can be more consistent.

Anyhow, I think I'm going to start posting posts about my favorite pieces from the Spring 2011 Ready-To-Wear Runway. From the looks which are sure to make a statement to the looks that I simply love.

So first off, Elie Saab is a genius and I look forward to his collection every Fashion Week. His collections are always so simple yet they hold an elegant look. His Spring collection is made up of oranges and blues as well as sequins. Paired with gold accessories, his collection definitely carries a "springy" look to it and combines the sequins and shimmer in a more low-key way then the past season where sequins were bluntly everywhere on the clothing.
