Current Obsession: Color Blocking

Spring is full of color and this season's trends are amazing. One that I love a little bit more than the others currently? Color blocking. Specifically bold pinks and oranges together. Nothing else makes for a better combination and it's completely perfect for spring in that it adds that pop of color everyone enjoys.

So when I came across this amazing Marc by Marc Jacobs Satchel on Pinterest, I lovingly sighed at the sight of it.

Just thought I would share with my lovely readers who love a great color combination. Find the bag online here and check out the Marc Jacobs Pinterest to find more to swoon about.

ToW #11: What Do Men Think of Women’s Fashion?

It's the question every woman (especially in college) thinks about: "What do men think of what I'm wearing?"

So to help out the ladies - specifically in college - here's a video that I created that delves into the inner-thinkings of the male mind so that you'll know just what they're thinking when you slip on those ever-comfy Uggs. You'll also find some tips from these five men concerning what's really important when you dress. Enjoy!

Saturday Faves: Nail Polish

Don't you love when you take a glance down at your toes and see such a beautiful color painted on them? I am obsessed with nail polish and it takes a lot for me to refrain from buying each and every color I find.

This week, I'd like to introduce you to my current favorite: O.P.I. in Comet Loves Cupid.

O.P.I. nail polish in Comet Loves Cupid

I love all of O.P.I.'s nail polish but this one is just perfect at the moment.

It's a beautiful cherry red that's bright and sexy - perfect to pep up your toes for the upcoming spring weather (or to feel a little brighter in this currently dreary weather)!

What's your favorite color for your toes?

ToW #10: Try Tangerine

Orange is a difficult color to work with - it's bold and risky for a lot of us so we prefer to stay away from it. But this spring, it's time to take some risks.

Tangerine has been all over the spring 2012 runway, from J.Crew to Jill Stuart. The trendsetting color, if worn right, can instantly brighten up any outfit.

So here are some tips to help you get started with incorporating tangerine oranges into your wardrobe:

Morgan Geiger, a Cal Poly freshman, believe that anyone can work tangerines:

"I think everyone could pull off the color orange if it's in a small quantity like a shirt, skirt or even a bag. And a lighter orange works well too because it's easier to pull off."

If you want to slowly edge into the tangerine trend, try a simple orange bag or clutch like this Tory Burch mini bag or this satchel from Urban Outfitters, and add it to your favorite outfit for a pop of color.

Geiger chose to color block and pair tangerine with blue, effortlessly creating a cute and simple outfit. To color block with tangerine, pair with pinks and blues.

Geiger color blocks with simple tangerine top and a blue floral skirt.

Here are some other ideas:

  • Pair a tangerine/orange dress with a light cardigan so you don't feel "too" orange.
  • Try mixing tangerine with patterns like Morgan did. Adding patterns to your outfit will make the tangerine less vibrant and showy if you're still easing into the trend.
  • Avoid the Halloween look and pair tangerine with whites and creams instead of black.

Fashion is about taking risks and trying out pieces and colors you would normally shy away from, so try something new. Experiment with tangerine and tell me your favorite outfit!

GapKids Collection with DvF

As I was perusing my new obsession, Pinterest, I came across the cutest pin:

Source: Uploaded by user via Gap on Pinterest

How can you not utter "aww" aloud after seeing this?

On March 15, Diane von Furstenberg launches her exclusive GapBaby and GapKids collection in stores and online in the U.S. and Canada.

As Furstenberg told the Los Angeles Times, "Normally, I don't like to do things for kids."

But once she met with Gap and their new president, Amy Peck, she went with it.

Furstenberg designed a line of leggings, shirts, swimwear, sandals, mini dresses and more for girls ages newborn to 14. The collection will be priced from $20 to $120.

A second collection from the designer is said to make an appearance in stores during the during holiday season.

You can check out this video for an exclusive sneak peek of the collection:

Dress Up Outfits With a Blazer

Spring is quickly around the corner and you know what that means: beautiful weather and beautiful clothing. My favorite piece for spring? A blazer.

Blazers are classy and they can be used to dress an outfit up or down so easily. Plus, they're one of spring's best pieces. Blazers are no longer just the classic black, but they're in beautiful pastel colors - perfect for spring.

Because blazers are great for the spring, I thought why not pair it with a usual spring trend: florals. This spring, take a risk and go bold with florals. If it's too much, throw on a colored blazer to tone down the look a bit.

A simple blazer can be paired with so many outfits. I love pairing my blazer with this dress from Urban Outfitters.

What do you like to pair with your blazers?
